The Final Kiss

Charlotte premiere! Written by legendary macabre playwright Maurice Level. After an acid attack leaves him disfigured, a man summons the former lover who betrayed him, promising forgiveness; but is it absolution he offers or something far more sinister, sealed with a final kiss. Produced by Post Mortem Players. Directed by Jackie Obando Carter. Starring Jon Bowlby, Jordan Deese Hartje, Matthew Monte', and Karisa Maxwell.

Storyteller Spotlight: Pat Moran

Pat Moran is a journalist and filmmaker. He learned about the power of storytelling at an early age when he looked through his father’s closet and found a hidden box of black and white photos. The pictures, taken by his father when he was serving in the U.S. Amy, were of the Nazi death camp Dachau, which was liberated by his father’s regiment. Pat asked many questions. In the 1990s, Pat produced, wrote and acted in a string of low budget horror movies. One of them has returned like a zombie rising from the tomb, and has been called a cult classic. JACK-O was produced in 1995 for the home video market, but is now getting screened in actual movie theaters. In the early 2000s, Pat performed in Charlotte sketch/improv comedy troupe Psychotic Pooch, which once opened for Weird Al Yankovic at the Carowinds Palladium. It was a great audience. In 2012, Pat started writing about news, music and art for Charlotte’s now-defunct alternative newspaper Creative Loafing. When that paper closed abruptly, he joined the staff of a bigger, better and badder local paper, Queen City Nerve. He’s won three North Carolina journalism awards and one regional Emmy. Back in 1976, Pat encountered the most famous person he’s ever met — but that's another story.
